Flashlight 3D's internship program gives students and career-transitioning professionals experience developing digital-health prototypes in an early-stage company environment.
Part-Time, 24–30 hours a week, in person in downtown San Diego. You'll build digital health tool prototypes alongside the founder, ship a real product, and get hands-on experience with how a technology company gets off the ground.
The most in-demand jobs right now require a continuously improving set of tools. The best way to learn them is to build with them.
You'll work with LLMs, agentic systems, and real health data to design and ship digital health tools — on a real timeline, for a real startup. You'll leave with portfolio-ready work, connections in health tech and AI, and applied experience that complements your academic training.
Four functional groups make up the team. Most interns contribute across more than one — this is a startup, not a specialized job.
Medical-record ingestion, data normalization, wearable integrations, and health-data infrastructure.
Model workflows, genomic annotation, system evaluation, safety, and documentation.
Application development, user experience, accessible report design, and visual communication.
Project management, partnerships, communications, governance, and financial planning.
Send a resume and detailed cover letter to careers@flashlight3d.com, including the functional areas that interest you.
